    Our standard

LoanAmerica® is committed to a website that every student, family, and school official can use, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology. We design and test loanamerica.com against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act enforcement actions and by the institutions we serve.

    What we do

    • Build on semantic HTML and accessible interface components, with labeled forms, descriptive link text, and a logical heading structure.
    • Support full keyboard navigation, including a skip-to-content link and visible focus indicators.
    • Maintain color contrast that meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.1 AA thresholds for text and interface elements.
    • Honor reduced-motion preferences: animations are disabled for visitors whose devices request less motion.
    • Run automated WCAG 2.1 AA checks on every release. A release that introduces a serious accessibility defect does not ship.

    Known limitations

Automated testing cannot catch every barrier, and some third-party content we link to is outside our control. We review the site on an ongoing basis and prioritize fixes that affect applying for a loan, contacting us, or reading our disclosures.

    Tell us about a barrier

If any part of this site is difficult to use with assistive technology, we want to know, and we will work with you to provide the information or service you need through an alternative method while we fix the underlying issue. Email [email protected] with the word "Accessibility" in the subject line, a description of the problem, and the page where it occurred. We respond within two business days.
